Spirulina Vs. Blue Green Algae
Chlorela Vs. Blue Green Algae
Let’s see what is the difference between :
Spirulina, Chlorela and Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae (Which is often related to by its botanical name Aphanizomenon flos-aquae or for short, AFA.
What is the Difference?
Spirulina and Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae (AFA) are both strands of Blue Green Algae.
Chlorela however, is a Green Algae which means its outer cell wall is an indigestible cellulose wall that must be mechanically broken first for our body to be able to digest it and assimilate it.
In addition, both Spirulina and Chlorella are grown in man-made ponds while Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae is grown in the pristine environment of mineral rich Upper Klamath Lake. A natural and wild environment that cannot be duplicated by any man.
It all began thousands of years ago in the pacific northwest where a massive volcanic eruption occurred that covered a large area in the Cascade mountains with millions of tons of minerals. Over the centuries much of these minerals washed into Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon. Even today a network of streams and rivers annually deposits 50,000 tons of minerals-rich sediment into this clean and crystal clear lake. As one of the richest nutrient reserve in the world, the perfect environment was created for the abundant growth of this phenomenal algae.
The other difference is:
Spirulina and Chlorella are usually dried by a spray drying process which is a heat process of 300 degrees that destroys their nutrients, live and active enzymes and proteins
More about our Unique BLUE GREEN ALGAE:
There are over 30,000 different kinds of algae, and amongst these is a unique freshwater edible type of algae documented by scientists as the simplest food on earth. Packed with virtually every vitamins, mineral and nutrient you need, Blue Green Algae is an incredibly powerful food source.
This exceptional freshwater algae wasn’t discovered until the 1970’s although it had been growing in Klamath Lake for many years. It was then tried as human food and was found to be one of the best sources of nutrition. Just a few grams a day can make a remarkable difference in the way you feel.
The drying process we use for our Klamath Lake Green Algae is a delicate process called Refractance Window which is designed to preserves the nutrients, its crystaline structure and its organic quality.
